(00:04:56). Listen to podcast interview
.

Mary Lou Fuller and Kay Amsden offer a very unique program to organizations, women's groups, colleges, corporations, senior centers and bookstores. Sisters by Heart, Partners in Aging has an upbeat message filled with energy, humor and sensitivity. The audience is invited to join Mary Lou and Kay on their personal journey through the changing tides of opinion regarding alternative lifestyles in the 1980’s to the more acceptable lifestyles of the 21st century. This eventually led the couple to become advocates for equality in the struggle for legal rights.

Audiences will share in the laughter and love of two women from diverse backgrounds who became partners in life and value the presence of each other everyday.

These two unique and courageous women, now in their 70’s, have received rave reviews for their candid approach to the controversial nature of their message about gay releationships.

Mary Lou will read passages from her book that inspired this program. Sisters by Heart - Partners in Aging, will also be available for sale after the program.

Sisters by Heart, Partners in Aging has received rave reviews throughout New England. This program is interactive and lasts about one-hour including a question and answer session. What audiences have said...

"I wanted to let you know that Mary Lou Fuller and Kay Amsden provided Plymouth State University with an AMAZING program on October 5th, 2004. I was moved by their open and honest dialogue with the audience and thoroughly enjoyed the positive message that was put forth. This interactive presentation was deeply moving with humor interspersed with sensitivity that fostered a safe and accepting environment for everybody in the room.

The premise of the program--and why I found it so remarkable--was that these individuals were there to create a historical awareness of the struggles that women endured while sharing a unique perspective
on their ever growing relationship. It brought history and current issues together in a way that was extremely affective. All I could think about during the program was that THIS is the kind of program we should be providing to our community as well as our students, faculty and staff. The courage and strength these women have exhibited is inspiring.

I would strongly recommend this program to any college, university and/or community agency that is looking to create awareness and acceptance. It will foster a sense of compassion and will move the audience to a place that they may not have been able to get to before.

-Delilah Smith, Director of Women's Services and Gender Resources, Plymouth State University

“Your enlightening presentation has given me more reason than ever to fight for the inevitable tide of justice that eventually embrace us all...we should never settle for less than full equality. Many thanks for your pioneering in this pursuit.”

-William Twibill, Concord, NH

"Thank you for speaking to us about your life experiences...as always, it was a wonderful program. You fill us with hope for a more enlightened society, a more Christian faith community, and encouragement for young gay people. Your lives have paved the way so that this generation of young gay men and women may not have to spend so much of their lives facing blankness, negativity and prejudice."

-Dr. Patrick Redmond Rochester, NH

“Some of the words that come to mind [about your presentation] are genuine, so easy to connect with, easy to take in. You told your stories in ways that invited me to connect them with mine...By your trusting open manner, I was invited to participate in your journey.”

-Rev. John Davies, Interim Pastor United Church of Christ
